Fund the Future is a program established by the University of Manitoba Faculty of Education Student Council in 2012 to support educational endeavors in Manitoba. Individuals or groups may submit an application to the Education Student Council for consideration. Preference will be given to applicants currently enrolled in a Faculty of Education program at the University of Manitoba.

 

Examples that may be eligible for funding:

  • Start up new programs, initiatives, and clubs in your practicum school.

  • Funding new supplies, equipment, or instruments for your practicum class/school that will be used during your lesson and that the school cannot help you financially.

  • Anything involving all types of learning: kinesthetic, auditory, visual, etc. and inclusive ed.

  • Clinicians, specialists, or other people you would want to bring in for a lesson.

  • Other initiatives approved by the Fund the Future Committee.

Funding Information

​

  • An approved application is eligible to receive funding up to a maximum of $600. An individual (regardless of group or individual application) may receive no more than a maximum of up to $600 in one academic year (depending on the quantity of applicants).

  • There is a maximum of $10 000 allotted for these grants this year. Approximately $5000 per semester.

  • Funding will occur via reimbursement upon presentation of receipts. Depending on the nature of the initiative other arrangements can be made if addressed in a timely manner.

  • The Education Student Council Fund the Future Committee reserves the right to fully fund, partially fund, or reject the application based on the established selection criteria and/or number of applications.

  • All materials purchased will be donated to the teacher candidates’ partner schools.

Submissions will be accepted by email (ftf.edsc@umanitoba.ca) until 11:59PM on October 23,2023.
